Bergmann Kalk

From the lime works to an international dry mortar producer: Since its founding in 1908, Bergmann Kalk has, from its German headquarters in Azendorf,  developed into an international company with approximately 800 employees. Starting with the production of heavy concrete blocks, window sills and cement bricks, the group is still family-owned and has become an internationally successful producer of dry mortar.
 

History

Since 2017 Bergmann – together with its international partners, and with new, innovative and trend-setting ideas in the fields of production, sales and service – has been successfully producing dry mortar in sack and silo in a variety of markets around the globe.


Research & Development

The natural raw material – lime – has accompanied humanity for millennia. The fossil raw material is widely used, whether as fertilizer, building material or dry mortar, and in fired or unfired form. Today, there is scarcely an industry in which lime or lime products are not used: Agriculture, forestry and environmental protection rely on high-quality lime products. Iron and steel refining, glass production, building material production, road construction, and air and water pollution control are just a few other applications for lime products. In agriculture and forestry lime is used as a fertilizer, and as animal feed in livestock farming, lime is indispensable.

Lime Products

Franken Maxit was started in 1978, with only three employees, as a cooperation between the lime mines Bergmann and Mathis in the Upper Franconian town of Azendorf. Over the past 30 years, Franken Maxit has become an international player. For decades, maxit has provided a large number of products and services for the construction industry and the construction trades: 800 employees currently generate sales of around € 190 million at nine locations. The dry mortar plant in Azendorf alone is now one of the largest companies in the industry in the entire nation of Germany.
